A thick scarf of thoughts

A thick scarf of thoughts

The days a bright, hot, pleasant afternoon,
just like good days should be.
Just like storms should end,
with enough joy the suns shine a witness to lifes problems on a break.

See the blue skies,
the clouds above, her smile below,
these are the least of my problems.
These are the things that make me feel a little different.
I hear the fire works explode,
Christmas must have come early this year,
because she's all the joy that comes with being the lucky tree the star sits on.
All of my fondest memories a thread woven into a thick scarf of thoughts to keep out the cold.

When I think of your skin,
when I think of how our happy days would speed on by,
like the traffic lights to my hearts intersections would always be green.
Like we'd always be able to save lives,
the smiles we'd give enough to light up a depressing room,
like we didn't share secrets in the dark.
Like the winds around us always whispered all the words we never said.
Our eyes the grandmasters to a checkmate that we could never clearly see.
Just like we never realise the stars shine during the daytime too.
I'd wondered,
if flowers imagined themselves before the bloom.
How good they'd look,
before they realise that love is a growth worth waiting for.
The words we'd speak the keys under our fingers played, a blind love,
just like Beethoven felt after he'd played his notes.
Like the feelings involved were the real music,
the notes a thread woven into a thick scarf of thoughts.

The words she said, a warmth I now feel around my neck.
